THE HEALTH CENTER OF COCONUT CREEK, FLORIDA

Recently, I was hospitalized because on Thanksgiving night, I found myself unable to walk. At the hospital, they found I had a cellulitis infection on my abdomen which apparently weaknd me. I needed the drug Cipro because I had trouble with Vancomyacin in the past given intrevenously. One major rehab would not take me because that drug was expensive. The Health Center mentioned in my above title took me as a patient with that drug.

I am very happy to report that the quality of care given to me at The Health Center was superb and first rate. The nurses were friendly as could be. The physiotherapy and occupational therapy was outstanding with the people I worked with. Even with those that I did not have for therapy I could see their great devotion to the other patients.

Food was good overall but I have to measure that on the diet suppled me. There is a few different diets available. I loved their barbeque sauce, hot soup, oatmeal, ham, sausage links and pastries to name a few.

If you live in Broward County, Fla. I recommend this rehab without reservation.

KUDOS: Shawn-Administrator

the other nurses that gave me care.

48 YEARS AGO-NOV 22, 1963

Hi everyone;

Some of you receiving this were not even born when this occurred on Nov. 22, 1963.

I had just finished 11th grade classes at my high school. I had decided to get a haircut. I walked from my house to the barber shop. It was very noisy in that barber shop where I was getting my haircut. There was a radio blaring in the shop but with all the noise I could hardly hear what was coming out of the radio's speaker. Something caught my ear that President Kennedy had been shot. I do not think anyone else was paying enough attention due to the noise to hear what was said. I paid for my haircut. I was walking back home where I was getting ready to cross Braddock Avenue at Hillside Avenue. A car stopped by me and the driver asked me if I had heard whether the president had been shot. I told him what I heard in the barber shop. I think I told him that when I get home I would find out more. I do not know if the gentlemen had a car radio. When I got home, I found out the truth. This happened on a Friday.

It became a rather morbid weekend for the country. Oddly enough my parents, brother and I had to attend a wedding in New Jersey of my cousin Gloria that Saturday night. After the wedding, my father was thinking of driving to Washington D.C. since we were a quarter of the way there but we came home.

That Sunday, we had enough of the morbidity so we sent to the movies. The theater was completely filled showing DEAR BRIGETTE with Jimmy Stewart. Apparently, others had to get away from the morbidity too.

My mother worked as a clerk typist during World War 2 in Wash. D.C. while my father was overseas in Europe. She witnessed the funeral of Franklin Roosevelt.

TRIBUTE TO SAM T.

Sam T. was a gentleman I met many years ago through a worker in a senior works program. He had an interest in electronics and speaker design. He told me that he had made a set of speakers into a pole lamp. It certainly was an interesting design and JVC was interested in it but he was afraid they would steal the idea from him so he disbanded the project. Now the tweeters and midrange of the system went into the pole lamps themselves. From that, he told me that because these speakers were self-sealed, that they did not need to be put into a cabinet.

I ran into problems with the built in tweeters of my minimus 7 speakers that would constantly blow. So from Radio Shack, I bought some round piezo tweeters and mounted them on a bracket above the cabinets. Piezo's do not blow. This has worked very well. I also did other experiments along this line with interesting results.

9/11/2001; ANOTHER DAY OF INFAMY

Today was the anniversary of the attack on the United States by terrorists on 9/11/2001. It is really something to see the events unfold again because the photographic equipment available at that time was videotape. Although I was born some 5 years after Pearl Harbor and was a teen during the Kennedy asassination, this was the first major attack on US soil by foreign nationals. It also changed the way the nation thinks about all kinds of things. It also got us involved in two worthless wars spending billions of dollars needed for the proper domestic operation of the USA and maiming many american soldiers and the like and misusing military reservists forced to leave their domestic jobs in the name of political infamy. The main thing however is that over 3,000 innocent people died that day. Boy do I hate the word "anniversary" used for events such as these. The word "anniversary" usually typifies something of a good thing. I wish somebody would find a different word for events such as these for there is nothing to celebrate here by the use of that word. These terroists got their martydom at our expense and I guess you can say that all terroists get their martydom in that manner. Boy did we get "Pearl Harbored" on this one though Pearl Harbor was mostly a military attack something that 9/11/2001 was not.

HARRISON FORD SHOULD GET AN HONORARY OSCAR

I was thinking to myself today that Harrison Ford did not get an Oscar in 1985 forWITNESS nor even a nomination for best supporting actor in THE FRISCO KID. The movies that he has been in have made a fortune of money in many cases. It is time for Hollywood to honor him.

OBAMA GOT OSAMA

The following is from a friend of mine, a very good friend, a family relation.

Last week when Donald Trump and the tea party Republican birthers were out calling the president Obama a foreigner who deceived the American people and was not a legal born American. Obama was planning the most important mission in our history. Bush and Cheney failed to do this and Obama promised to full fill this. While the Republicans were out destroying our economy killing Medicare and all the progressive ways of life that the Democrats have given our nation. The Republicans made claims that they are the best at keeping the country safe. It was on there watch that we were attacked and it was on there watch that the country went down the pits.
We know now that the Democrats can lead and get the right things done.
Thank you President Citizen Obama for killing of the most ruthless man in the world. Mission Accomplished.

SO NOW THE CONGRESS HAS BECOME A "FIEFDOM"

2. Something over which one dominant person or group exercises control(FIEFDOM DEFINTION).

I think it was a lot of nerve from the US government almost shutdown to say that the President,Senate and HOuse would be paid on time while soldiers would have to wait for their pay. Funny that the president is also the commander in chief of all armed forces yet he would have been paid as part of his title as president.

When you had the power, democrats, after O'bamas election you failed to use it to get proper legislation through. You think you are going to get it with the tea party or the current republicans that only look out for themselves and constituents that have a lot of money and want to hog the wealth. They will not have wealth for long if there is nobody to have money to buy their manufactured goods or take on their services. The tea party primarily along with some republicans are advocating anarchy and crime. Do you think the police are going to obey any rules if they are not paid too. Who is going to protect you? Bodyguards against the masses of unemployed etc, etc. You clowns are looking to bury the USA in a grave. All of a sudden, deficit spending is no good after contributing so much over the years to deficit spending. What are you feeling guilty? If you want money, why not stop the wars and have the soldiers come home or are you afraid they will find no jobs here if they do come home for many are reservists that should have never been called up for Iraq and Afghanistan in the first place.

HOW TO SOLVE THIS TAX DILEMMA

PRESIDENT OBAMA IS A JERK AND A BUNGLER

Yes he is, perhaps the biggest jerk of being a U.S. President the likes of which we have never seen. It is over this tax cut deal that he did not have to give for anything. Keith Olbermann's comment on his show this evening summed it up that there is no way in hell that Republicans would have denied extended unemployment benefits nor not voted for them if tax cuts were not extended to the highest wage earners over 250,000 dollars. On top of this the payroll tax for social security was reduced. Funny how everybody was worried about social security not having its funds around to be solvent. Not only the President, but all you rotten politicans and we dumb Americans are being told an atrocious lie that social security is part of the budget. IT IS NOT. It is funded separately so it is not part of any budget. Never have so many people been so stupid over a bunch of no good politicians and President. Wake up!!!! Tea party candidates are not your answer because they will only provide the fire for people running around getting their monies through crime waves of robbery when certain benefits that need to be in place are gone. Conservatism to me is when government spends what it needs to spend on its constituents and not on a bunch or worthless programs ,earmarks or what not. The wealthiest do not need the tax cut extended because they are not helping the economy anyway. It is the average Joe or Jane that needs them and perhaps more than can meet the eye. They are the ones who spend on the most common goods and services needed that keep an economy rolling. Yachts and 300,000 dollar cars are not common goods. If we are not careful we sill not have the funds in government to take care of emergency situations on the homefront. There has to be a place of demarcation as to whether funds should come from a state, from the Feds or a combination of both. For instance security of our borders is a federal expense to secure THE COUNTRY. Having a military is a federal expense because it secures THE COUNTRY. Suppose my state needs a new bridge over a river, lake or something of that nature. That bridge must be evaluated as to whether it falls on state, federal or a combo of both. If that new bridge has no value to the federal infrastucture then it is a state expense. If that bridge is vital to both statewide and federal commerce, then it is a shared expense. President Obama should not run for office in 2012; enough bungeling has taken place

CHERIE DITCHAM JUBILEE FROM "GET OUT"

__________________________________________________________

IMHO,Cherie Ditcham is one of the most beautiful girls in the world. She is great on the show GET OUT. I took these pictures with a Samsung S630 camera set in custom mode and photographed off my Toshiba 37 inch Regza 720P high def television.
As great as this girl looks, I would still rather have my late girlfriend Judy alive.

WWE'S ''THE UNDERTAKER''

Last week on Monday night RAW, Shawn Michaels, a popular wrestler for 20 years retired after his final match at the Wrestlemania show with a wreslter called THE UNDERTAKER. IMHO, THE UNDERTAKER is the best gimmick of a wrestler that the WWE has ever had; a "dead man" that wrestles. However this man IMHO is a world class wrestler up there with the likes of Bruno Sammartino and a very few others that I cannot think of.

When this wrestler makes an appearance, huge bells ring in the auditorium like there is going to be a funeral. Last week, the bells rang as Michaels gave his farewell speech. The UNDERTAKER however did not magically appear somewhere in the arena or the middle of the ring as he usually does, but instead walked out to the entrance that would lead one to the ring. It is there that he stopped and tipped his hat to Michaels and then left. It is rare in wrestling to see something like this, but IMHO that was a class act goodbuy to Michaels. Great going UNDERTAKER and that is why youare a world class wrestler in my book.

SIZED DOWN QUANTITIES IN PRODUCTS

My first experience with this occurrence was when I was a kid in the 1950s. I heard that the one oz. candy bars were going to be sized down as well as the wrigley 5 stick chewing gum packets.

I remember when a can of tuna was 7 and 3/4 onces. I do not know how many sizes it kept dropping too except that last size I experienced was 6oz. Recently tuna is now in a 5 oz can. It cost the same amount of money. More so, when I was a kid, my mother made a whole meal for me out of that 7 3/4 oz can which cost 25 cents from Krasdale sold at an outfit called Great Eastern Mills in Hempstead,Long Island. I was doing fine with the 6 oz can which made me a fine meal but the 5 oz can is just not enough nor do I feel like opening up two 5 oz cans of tuna to placate my appetite, so tuna canners, screw you, I am not going to be eating that much tuna anymore until you bring back that 6 oz can which I doubt you will.

This week, Tropicana OJ, is going to reduce their half-gallon container to 59 oz. of juice in April at the same price. It's all because of the "freeze" this winter in Florida. On the carton, they use oranges from Brazil as well. So who are they fooling with their "explanation". Nobody; Tropicana, nobody. I wonder how many other growers will follow suit like Florida's Natural for example. Hell, the next thing is that gasoline companies will sell gas at 4/5 of a gallon and who knows what else.

Alot of sized down quality crappola goes on right under our noses. I think that Ocean Spray Cranberry sauce which used to be 16 oz is now 14 oz. If I have used something for years at a certain weight and quanity, I expect that quantity to be there at the store and not be tricked and deceited by sizing down. Somebody is going to size down the wrong thing one of these days that is going to effect somebody nutrionally and is going to be sued and end up in the slammer.

Folks, this is an abuse of our capitalistic society that we are so proud of and we are being held ransom by greedy deceitful corporations on their products. What do we have to now write laws on quantites and notices of quanties?

TRON IN HIGH DEFINITION

I just finished watching TRON on the HD network tonite. You be surprised how much more I understand this film since I became more computer saavy. On top of this, the film was just stunning in high-def to watch. I caught a sign by Allan's desk "Klaatu Verata Nicktu" that was sight unseen by be on videotape or videodisc because of those two formats being of the pan and scan variety of that film and of course not being a widescreen 1080 I movie to boot. The movie too is exciting in its story line and "Disneyish" all the way. Of course the film is unique for the blending and interaction of humans inside of a computer as the main storyline. This film set that storyline for other films to follow. When I owned it on laserdisc, the two channel dolby stereo was quite good, but I did not get that effect over my Toshiba Regza television. That does not mean it was not coming in stereo; the Regza is good on some movies and bad on most others when it comes to stereo reproduction. On the same token, it all depends that type of sound track the channel might have of the film as well. I highly recommend the film otherwise.

TNA WRESTING TAKING ON WWE RAW AT 9 PM MONDAYS

I think wrestling is a contrived piece of bru-ha-ha, but some of the wrestlers do put on a good if not a great show and have so since I started watching it in the early 1960s.

I cannot see TNA's wrestling show taking on WWE's Raw on Monday nights. The WWE is just far more entertaining. Regardless of the influence of Hulk Hogan and his compatriots at TNA, I just cannot see that happening because WWE is just so much better than TNA. I cannot see TNA taking coming to be the #1 wrestling organization over WWE either IMHO.

On Obama's Pep Talk to the Students of The Country

Mr. President, why don't you give yourself a pep talk on how to be a president instead of the blowhard that you are turning out to be. You are in no position to give advice to the students of this country at this moment. Perhaps another time if you show yourself at least as attempting to do the right things you proposed to do during your campaign like supporting MAIN STREET.

A note on FARRAH FAWCETT

Today, "gorgeous" passed away for that is the best word that IMHO described Farrah Fawcett. I first saw her doing the Alberto Balsam shampoo comercials in the 1970s. I said to my mother that is only a matter of time before this girl goes somewhere because she has such beauty. She did sort of. Even my mother copied that famous hairdo. Rest in peace, Farrah.

PROFESSIONAL WRESTLING

My father turned on the tv one night in the early 1960s. It was wrestling from Sunnyside Gardens with a commentator named Eric Paige. Apparently the Worlds Heavyweight Champ, Nature Boy Buddy Rogers started something with Dr. Billy Darnell. Darnell dropkicked him mulitiple times, put him in an airplane spin and pinned him, one-two-three. Darelll was about to be declared the new Worlds Champion, but no, the official had not rang the bell. Unknown to me then, but known to me now and done in many far more sophistacted and perhaps stupider ways too are the shanigans carried out in the professional wrestling world.

That which I described above are harmless. Darnell was a more capable wrestler than Rodgers would ever be. Today, I see people in the WWE that are World Heavy Weight Champions that should not be and some that are not that are qualified to be and should be but for some reason whover is playing "god" over the show just does not let it run on its own free will.

My main concern on this writing is on the things done that have nothing to do with wrestling that go on with wrestling in the ring. There are wrestlers who bring in sledgehammers, barbed wire poles, challehehs and name not what to the right and use these things in matches. They have no business being used or seen. Children watch this stuff and may get ideas at home with their playmates and bash each other's brains out. Besides, this is not what wrestling is about. OK, the audience may expect a chair here and there, but even that should be kept to a minimum. As far as table and ladder fights or as they call "extremem rules",keep it to the "pay per view" realm where parents can control the kids viewing habits.

GA GA CREECH( GORGEOUS CREATURES)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
When watching BECKER, I came across Shawnee Smith. AS the show progressed, they made her dressed so sexy and gorgeous. On top of that I have not seen a girl so funny in a sitcom like her. Man is she a doll to love.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The pics on top show two models from QVC, Kate and Rebecca. Kate is the slim redhead, Rebecca the BBW beauty with the face of a doll.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Jenna Wolfe is my all around ideal girl; reminds me of my late girlfriend,Judy. She has it all, beauty, spirit, ooopmph and humour.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Greta Brawner has the most lovely eyes that grace the screen and just a most lovely face on C-span.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Honorary mention to the gal who is doing the GLADE commericals at this moment.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- IN channel surfing, I have noticed some extremely lovely-beautiful-gorgeous woman who grace the airwaves. Some are models, newscasters,or commentators.

That expression "GA GA CREECH" was something that I use to repeat when I was a tiny baby and one of the first expressions that I ever said in response to my mother calling me a "gorgeous creature".

Barack Obama

On Tuesday, the citizens of this country made the right choice in picking Obama as its new president beginning January 20th, 2009. There has always been a saying that "anybody could become president of the United States", but there seemed to be racial, religious and sexist undertones attached to this. The religious undertone was broken when John Kennedy, a catholic was elected in 1960. When someone other than a white person would be elected was anyones guess but now it has happened in the case of this Afro-American who in a smartly run campaign who earned the support of real people and not stuffed shirts deserves his spot in history and got it this week. We all should wish him well and give his the support he needs and help him out in trying to solve the problems bestowed on this country caused by poor judgement of past administrations.

POINT AND SHOOT DIGITAL CAMERAS

If you have one of these particularly one that you carry around and has movie capability of 640X480 @ 30fps and has a good battery in the unit do not be afraid to use it as a pocket camcorder.

TIM RUSSERT

I was shocked by the passing of Tim Russert. I was not a fan of Meet the Press, but I liked the way Mr. Russert conducted the primary debates and his appearnces on any NBC newcasts commentaries. We really needed Tim at this time for his tough minded but total level headed fairness to all sides. A great loss to the country.

WHO IS AT FAULT FOR THIS OIL PRICE RISE

When we go to vote, we expect our representatives to keep an eye out on things. Of course, the congress may or may not be pro-business which may or may not be favorable to the consumers or to the people in general. Apparently, that was the case in 1973 with the first oil embargo. As soon as that occurred, the auto industry should have met with the oil industry(the main power broker in the energy industry for fueling automobiles) and discussed a way to come up with a way to get automobiles off of gasoline or to reduce the internal combustion engine's dependence on 100 percent gasoline to a mixture of some type of oil/alcohol mixture made from crops which was known at that time. Was anything done. NOOOOOOOO...... And when another shortage occurred, NOOOOOO....... Did anybody figure that other countries might grow in population and desire automobiles and OIL, the same oil we buy from those nations that supply us, NOOOOOOO. Even I never thought about that. But if we had developed alternate fuels from 1973 on, WHO WOULD HAVE CARED. If the right thing was done in 1973, would the food crops be replaced for oil today, NOOOOOO, because we would have had time to adjust for this and corn would have been replaced by other by-products to make ethanol. In fact, maybe we would be on a hydrogen fuel cell standard by now and if not, something better, perhaps, better hybrids., for 30 something years have passed.

HILLARY CLINTON HAS A DILEMMA OVER IRAQ

Hillary Clinton recently said she had been president in 2002, she would have not gone to war. This is in conflict for the fact that she was a senator at that time and voted to go to war. You have put yourself in a nasty waffling situation, Hillary and waffling is something you do not need.

What you should be saying is this: If I voted for the war as a senator at that time, it is most likely I would have voted for war if I had been president. The question is whether if I had been president, would the country still be involved it the war in Iraq today. My answer would be that I would have hoped that I was smart enought to realize that as soon as we would have started to loose american soldiers lives to ground insurgents that I would had the sense to withdraw immeadiately. It is one thing to be a senator and another to have the power of being the commander of chief.

Terminator Dreamin'

Many of us go to the movies everyday. These movies however are created in out subsconscious and play many nights with rather off beat stories and situations. Such is one I had the other night.

Bob has been playing TERMINATOR 2 and 3 lately. It must have got into my subconscious.

I dreamt that the Teminatrix from T-3 was after me all over the place. The ARNOLD was a important scientist out to destroy the T-3 terminator. This one part of the dream got me though.
In the dream I am saying to myself; I have watched so many science fiction pictures in my lifetime so why can I not come up with a method to terminate the terminatrix. Immediately a thought comes into my mind about the 1958 movie, THE BLOB. I remembered that the blob could not be destroyed but to stop it it could be FROZEN. All of a sudden the ARNOLD pops out with a rifle that shoots out a freeze mist that could stop the terminatrix. I do not remember what happened next.
It is funny that he played MR FREEZE in the last BATMAN movie running around with a ray gun that froze people, but I did not think that was why I conjured him up in this dream with that cold mist rifle.

THE BEST EPISODES OF A TV SERIES THAT I EVER SAW

SEA HUNT: I do not know the titles to the episodes. One involved Mike Nelson's pursuit of an underwater disturbance that turns out to be an underwater satellite.

A strange underwater occurrence leads Mike Nelson to discover an unusual underwater cave.

FLIPPER: 1960s TV series; I did not care for the series but I was into fishing and boats at that time. In one episode, Flipper has to dodge shells on a naval firing range.

THE TWILIGHT ZONE: NIGHT OF THE MEEK-A stunning christmas story ala Twilight Zone style featuring Art Carney.

COMMANDO CODY: This was the TV series Commando Cody, not the serial. The ruler creates havoc on the earth with the creation of multiple suns.

STAR TREK, THE NEXT GENERATION: The episode titled THE INNER LIGHT which was voted #5 on the all time favorite list.

STAR TREK, DEEP SPACE NINE: THE VISITOR- A stunning performance by actor Tony Todd as an older Jake Sisko trying to find a cause and solution to a problem that has trapped his father.

STAR TREK, THE ORIGINAL SERIES: THE EMPATH- An alien race has the power to save only one of two races from their sun which is going to supernova. Kirk, Spock and McCoy are put through torture to see if an empath is willing to absorb their pain and sacrifice herself in doing so.

THE TIME TUNNEL: THE WALLS OF JERICHO- Tony and Doug, the two travelers caught in a time warp end up playing the two israeli spies that helped Joshua take down the walls of Jericho. My father liked this episode alot.

THE OUTER LIMITS(1963): THE MAN WHO WAS NEVER BORN- A fantastic performance by Shirley Knight and Martin Landau with a fabulous story involving an earthman who is given the opportunity to travel back in time in order to change history by preventing the birth of a scientist who would cause a plague that creates mutants and practically obliterates the human race in the near future.

THE OUTER LIMITS(1990s): TRIBUNAL- Involves a time traveler who goes thru history rendering justice by a tribunal in the future for past wrongs.

LASSIE(1950s): Porky gets trapped in some quicksand and it takes the efforts of Lassie and crew to rescue him.

ST. ELSEWHERE: Dr Fiscus is shot. His soul travels to heaven, purgatory and hell. In hell he meets a former doctor who was accussed of being a masked rapist in the hospital. In purgatory, he meets a former patient waiting to be helicopted to heaven.
In heaven he meets god who shows himself to Fiscus in Fiscus's image.

STAR TREK VOYAGER: BLINK OF AN EYE.....Season 6, Ep.12. Time passes thousands of times faster on a planet below of which the Voyager is somehow caught in the planets gravitaional field. For thousands of that planets years, the Voyager is looked upon as some kind of "thingy'' in the sky but only minutes in Voyager's time has gone by. Eventually, the planet gains technology to send up a ship to Voyager to help with the problem of releasing Voyager from the planet's gravational pull. Terrific episode.

ONE OF THESE DAYS-------------------

I am going to do a blog of the tv shows I have scene over the years with my choice of the favorite or favorite episodes.

SMALLVILLE on the WB Network

I do not think much of television shows lately. Some of it is my mental condition and some of it is the fact that they stink and lack interest with their storylines. One such show tries hard and to an extent succeeds in entertaining me;SMALLVILLE. The episode that was on April 20, 2006, was one of the best done in the series. I am not going to go into detail to describe it. SMALLVILLE is an updated version of one of the most popular american mythological characters ever created, SUPERMAN. It succeeds and is credible. Keep up the good work, WB.

Shawnee Smith and Kristie Alley

For the past year I have watched the tv series BECKER. The cast included an actress by the name of Shawnee Smith. She plays the comedic role of a ditzy but a semi-smart gal named Linda, a office assisant in Dr. Becker's office. I could almost say that she stole the series; she is that good.

I have scene Kristey Alley periodically, but I think she has become hot doing those Jenny Craig weight loss commercials. Kristy is a ''BROAD'' but I mean this with kindness and admiration. I love the way she does her "DOROTHY'' imitation, clicking the heels of her red shoes saying,THERE'S NO FOOD LIKE CAKE, THERES NO FOOD LIKE CAKE.

The movie about THE THREE STOOGES

There is a tv movie about the life of THE THREE STOOGES. It is a very interesting film of these comics who made shorts for Columbia Pictures. In fact, I liked this film better than the shorts that they made over the years. Kudos to Michael Chilkis who played the role of Curly. He should have received an Emmy for this role.

Challenger Space Shuttle 20th Anniversary

I hate to use the word "anniversary" when it relates to tragedies. 20 years have now passed. 20 years ago, I was driving up state road 7(also known as route 441). I was just approaching the area of Margate when I noticed to my left two distinct large trails of smoke in the sky. I said to myself that the Challenger was going up this morning. This was the first time that I ever saw such residue in the sky after takeoff. At that moment I became concerned for to me "things did not look right". When I got home, I turned on the television and thus found out about the tragedy that just occurred.........

The case of the finally found remote control

Two months ago, I had it in my hand. All of a sudden, I did not have it in my hand. That was a Pioneer vxx2702 remote for a DV-341 dvd player. I looked everywhere for it.

This morning, my phone wire under my desk got tangled up. I could not get online because one of the ends was not making a good connection. The phone wires went through a electric multi-outlet extension. I picked that thing up and would you believe, but that remote control was hidden underneath that thing all this time. It happens to be one of the better ergonomic remotes that Pioneer has made for their players. I am able to use it on other Pioneer models. A replacement would have run from $10 up to 30 plus dollars depending on it being new or used. Money well saved as far as I am concerned.

DEDICATED TO RICHARD M. AND MIKE T.

I met Richard M. in the fall of 1960 in Junior High School when I was 14. I think that the home room teacher had assigned seats so he was placed next to me. We began to talk and found that we had common interests like electronics and particularly salt water fishing. His parents owned a 29 ft. Luhrs Sea Skiff with a Greymarine inboard motor. His father seemed well to do so his family had a nice loving home Even his dog, Teppy, loved me when I would come over. Over the years we did some fishing together, took long bike rides, had the first reel to reel tape recorder running in a vehicle that we know of on a power inverter and enjoyed food. Somehow we lost contact in a strange way because we each misplaced each other's change of address. This occurred around 1978. I was out of contact with him until the late 1990s. The computer age helped me to find him, in fact, fortunately his son was listed in the state that I thought that he would be living in and so it was. Great person, great family, what more could anybody ask in a friend. I will never forget how kind his mom was during the year 1961 when she would take me and a few other of Richard's friends home by car from a division of our high school known as the annex from Jamaica to Queens Village, New York.

I met Mike T. while working for a social service agency on a senior works program around 1978.
We became fast friends. He admired the way I was with home electronics like stereos. I went with him in the 1980s to audition speakers in a store. He bought the Pioneer HPM-100s. He still has them and they still work. They are a much sought after vintage loudspeaker(read audioreview.com on the stories of how people acquired these things). We went fishing with a friend of his out of Key Largo in a rowboat with a 18 hp evinrude outboard that only had two of the three blades on the prop out of a joint called ALABAMA JACKS. We did catch some small panfish because I had some tiny hooks in my taklebox. We did have a good time anyway. I lost track of Mike for awhile because he went to seek his fortune in N.Y.C. However, I always kept him on my mind. Fortunately, I remembered where his father lived and was able to track down his dad's phone number. Mike was with his dad and told me that the N.Y.C. trip did not turn out that good. No matter. He is happily married with two sons. He has a doctorate and his charming wife is a executive vice-president in a major bank. In the 1980s when he got married, I video taped his wedding in linear stereo sound. The wedding photographed quite well but the sound was fantastic. Mike and his family live very busy lives but I am always in contact with him. He came to see me a few times when I was in the hospital in Feb of 2005. On the day that I got out, he came with his son and a carload of foodstuffs. Some time ago, I was at his house and assisted him in hooking up a budget home theater system which for the budget it was, played pretty damm good. He is a great friend and he has a great family. He is also a great MR MOM.

Len S.

I met Len S. when he was 12 years old and I was 38. He is the son of Judy's(my lost love) sister. He had an interest in music, cooking and STAR WARS. He is now in his early 30s. He has been maintaining his interest in music all these years. He is in town for a few weeks. He dropped by to see me. He also brought a CD of some of the music he has been doing. What a CD. Not only is the music sensational(sort of a combination of mozart and acoustical jazz) but the recording itself sounds extremely lifelike with presence that I just do not hear on any CDs that I have bought over the years. I had my brother make a copy of his recording. I have evaluated the recording on a few different sound systems along with a few different CD and DVD/CD players. Personally, I think this recording could be used to persuade somebody to buy some kind of audio system; it is that good; better than the recording I considered the best up till know, SPIES, THE MUSIC OF ESPIONAGE on TELARC. Len was telling me that he may be recording with surround sound. If this recording was recorded in discrete surround sound, it really would have been a hoot. Keep up the great work, Len. Now you need to make some "moolah" with your talent.

Mothra movies

I watched two Mothra movies(REBIRTH OF MOTHRA 1 and REBIRTH OF MOTHRA 2) late night over the New Years weekend on the sci-fi channel. Since they were made in the late 1990s, they had stereo sound to boot. While being grade Z monster flicks, a grade Z monster flick could be divertly entertaining as these two flicks were. The special effects were not too bad either.

I remember watching the original Mothra on tv in the 1960s. It was grade Z and not too entertaining. I must give GODZILLA VS THE THING(sometimes known as GODZILLA VS MOTHRA) at least a B rating up from a Z rating. This movie was a pretty good monster flick. I think I saw it in 1964 in Jamaica, N.Y. one night. I have scene it on tv. I also have it on a dvd with a revamped 5.1 surround sound track which while not being to loud is not too bad either other than the 5.1 track sounds more like a 4.0 track. The special effects are rather good in this film, particulaly the scenes with the giant egg. I like when Godzilla knocks down a Pagoda;very well done.

A visit to FEMA

My area was hit pretty good by Hurricane Wilma. I have sustained some damage. About a month back, a FEMA official did an exam of my home. I was sort of led to believe I would receive an allowance for some of the damages. I recently received a letter to the contrary. My brother and I went to the FEMA office which is outdoors under a tent in the Pompano Beach area. They filed my greivance letter for review. Oddly enough, it was my brother who ended up helping a worker at FEMA who was having a problem with his laptop computer. My brother possesses extroadinary computer saavy. He spent perhaps nearly two hours with the FEMA worker. That laptop was working in fine shape when we left. My brother also made a new friend.

Three actors that I have liked over the years and a fourth who joins their ranks.

These four actors stand out in the acting work that they do or have done in the past. They do not necessarily get the fame of what we call the high paid actors society. I am not going to go into the works that they have done; look up their names up on the IMDB.COM website and see a record of their work. The actors are: Whit Bissell, Royal Dano, William Daniels and Terry O'Quinn. Whit Bissell and Royal Dano have since passed on. I do not know at this moment what William Daniels is doing. Terry O'Quinn is doing the show LOST.
